"Ready for play for 40 more years
To celebrate our first 75 years, we decided to revive some favorites from the past. We launched KLIPPAN in 1980 when we declared Living room for the children. The idea with the sofa was for it to withstand the human need to play ‒ while also having a low price and fitting almost anywhere. Now we dare to say that we succeeded. To celebrate ‒ and make life easier for all adults ‒ we’re launching the durable RANSTA sofa cover and are ready for at least 40 more years."
"Over the summer, IKEA celebrated 75 years of being the go-to flat-pack furniture and Swedish meatball destination for young renters and professional designers alike. To celebrate, it made a limited-edition collection named GRATULERA (“congrats!” in Swedish), inspired by its iconic designs from every decade since the beginning of IKEA, and has been slowly rolling it out each month. And though we have a special place for every era of vintage furniture, we are exceptionally thrilled for October’s release: the ’70s and ’80s.
